POSTED AT 07:23 PM

Hello to all of my former 5th grade students.  I was hoping you might post  some ideas of things that might help my current students as they prepare for middle school.  Thanks for your input.

I think you should do locker checking maybe once every month? That would help!

The best thing I can think of is to use your planner and use your time wisley to do your homework! Becuase in 6th grade you get loads! So, use you recess and study hall time! And make sure to keep orginized so you don't forget anything becuase if you forget an assignment the day it's due you usally get points off!

At ther beggening of the year middle school can be kind of confusing!!!! Around the end of the first quater every thing is alot easier!!!! We get more homework than we did in 5th grade, looking back on it, 5th grade looks simple!! I think that middle school is really fun. You get to do a lot more things like buy food from the cafiteria, and at the end if lunch, if you decide to stay in during reccess somtimes if the lunch moms have extra food they will give you some popcorn chicken or thoose little fruit salad things that come with hot lunch.one of the best parts of lunch is that once your finished eating you can buy ice cream!!!! One of the awesomest things about middle school is that all the teachers are sooooooooo nice!!!!some advice is use your planners and make sure your orginized, we have to keep all our text books in there!!!! Also, locker shelves help aloooot. Okay, I hope you people are looking forward to middle school, it's a blast!!!!!
    sincerly, Lexi

Like Alex said i think you should tell them to study about 20 min. each night and then the night before the test I would study for an hour or an hour and a half.

I would definitely recommend getting into the habit of using your planner. And also do not assume you can remember all of your homework, in Middle School you get a little bit more homework (not such a bad thing). You don't want to forget anything! Oh, and always use your time wisely (extremely important). If you do not, in Middle School you'll probably become a procrastinator. But remember don't rush yourself to much, you always want to have neat work!
