I love index cards, stickie notes, and work boards.

To keep my groups organized I have separate bins where I keep student folders that are color coded for each group/grade I meet with. With each group of student folders I keep my own file folder that includes the lessons for that particular group.

Stenhouse.com has a sample chapter from another one of Debbie Dillers books "Spaces and Places." You may find this a useful source for more info about organizing and arranging your room.

Debbie also hosts a flickr site where teachers can submit their own classroom photos that will be used as points of discussion. This could give you some interesting feedback?!?!

To organize my room, I have set up certain spaces that are devoted to my literacy stations. They never change...consistency has proven to work in my room. I made a poster that shows the students what group they are in & what station they will be working in for the day. This chapter proved to be very informative. I came up with a great idea on how to organize my room & the materials within each station.

To organize students schedules for stations and work, each student has a laminated personal schedule. This schedule is kept inside their literacy folder so that they may look at it quickly for transitions.
