Think about how Phonemic Awareness Skills are taught in your classroom...
* How are you currently assessing your students progression of Phonemic Awareness along the continuum?
* How do you target the students who have not developed these skills?
* What phonemic awareness tasks do all of your students engage in daily?

My students are assessed formally in phonemic awareness through DIBELS PSF and informally through warm-up activities. I observe and take notes. The phonemic warm-up activities we do include stretching out the sounds we hear in CVC words touching our heads for the beginning sound, our waists for the middle vowel, and our feet for the ending sound. It's good exercise too:)

I do daily PA drills that take 2min. to daily assess their progress. We also play lots of picture card sort games to increase their fluency. I also try to do a visual, kinesthetic, auditory activity for every lessson to really reach all learners.

Through formal assessments of fluency such as Dibels testing, 1-on-1 reading with students & observations in group, practice with choral/echo reading, ect.
