I thought it was very interesting to read this myth and find that it said that the gods were the ones who chose were we lived. it wasn't our decision and it didn't happen by fate (but maybe gods control our fate). But then again, they didn't know about the things that jared diamond has figured out and so they needed some sort of expaination for them building cities.

Also I noticed how Athena is one of the only gods who is not oriented around warfare and winning wars. Many of the gods, including Poseidon are all about killing and winning wars. Athena however, gives the people of Athens something that will be a sign of peace and will help support families.
