  You can answer it in paragraph form (1-3 paragraphs). Think of it as a letter/email to someone (only it's a little more formal since it's to a newspaper). You're just giving your opinion & explaining why you feel the way you do. Hope this helps! You'll do great.

He hasn't been able to start catching up on homework yet because he has had a fever since Sunday. We are hoping the fever will go away soon so he can come back to school!
