3rd Grade Summer Reading Academy

The end of the school year rapidly approaches, but that doesn't mean that it is time to stop reading.  If you check out "Links," "Fun Reading Extensions," and "10 Ways Busy Parents" you will find lots of way to keep your child reading all summer long. 
   Also, don't forget to check out your neighborhood.  The OKC metro library system offers free library cards for all kids in OK county or in an OK county school (like Rose Union) and has a reading program every summer with lots of great prizes.  There are often bookstores, movie theatres, etc. that also provide fun little extras for readers. 
If you are a parent of a 3rd grader, be on the lookout for information regarding Summer Reading Academy here in Deer Creek.  It is by invitation only and will be Monday- Thursday, 8:30-11:30, June 15th- July 9th.  If your child has been to Reading Round Up, it is like that, but on a larger scale.  We have lots of fun with puppets, games, computer activities, writing stories etc. And Miss Pappas will be there too.
