My views of Nixon definately changed over the movie. I didn't feel bad for him in the begining. He broke this country, and he admitt it. After Frost interviews him the last time, I see a once strong man break. I then started to feel bad. This man was once was president of our country, but is now being beaten down. I started to feel sorry, and now my whole view has changed.
In my opinion, i feel alot of sympathy for President Nixon. I feel sympathy for him because i don't think he ment to do anything he did to intentionally hurt anybody. I think he knew what he was doing but did not know the consequences that would come along with it. I also believe it was extremely hard for him to admit that he let alot of people and down, and for him to apologize to the United States of America.
I feel bad for Nixon by the end of the film because he seems so lonely. You can tell by his actions and expressions that he's sorry for what he did, but all his advisors say it's better for him to deny having anything to do with Water Gate. I mostly feel sorry for him, but it seems like I shouldn't.
I do feel some sympathy for Nixon at the end of the movie Frost Nixon. During the interviews, I did not feel anything for Nixon because he was intentionally plowing over someone that he thought he had the upper hand against. After the phone call to Forst, I felt like in the final interview Frost could have killed Nixon and I wouldn't have cared. Once the moment came, you felt sympathy for him. As the one character said there is such great power in the close up. By looking at the close up and seeing all the self hate and disappointment, it made me think twice about what he did. Then even after the interviews, Frost gained so much fame and Nixon was always known as the president involved in Watergate.
Since I missed the beginning of the film and started watching from about the third interview, I though Nixon was doing a pretty good job with the interviews. He gave strong answers and was pretty intense with some of them. So from that point, I thought he was doing good and felt a little symapthetic for Frost who thought he could beat Nixon at the time. In the final interview after it was interrupted briefly, both men were confused as to what was going on and I could tell that the drive they both had at the beginning of the interview was gone. When they returned, Frost kept going with the interview like nothing happened and Nixon took it like his entire world just came to an end. He looked extremely tired, worn out, and upset because he knew he had been beaten. At this point, I felt bad for him, after how well he had been doing in the previous interviews just to have it all stripped away from him.
I conlude about this movie that the nixon interviews was needed for the american people. After viewing theis movie I have sympathy for president nixon. Who wouldnt i mean he devoted his life to politics and a couple mistakes he had turned his presidentcy into a massive catastrophe, it turned into a big undesireable conclusion that many havent imagined and havent expected.
Yes! A ton. The look on his face says it all! I was really hit with the fact that Nixon's human and should be able to make mistakes.. it's just that his were HUGE(Watergate) and he had to pay for them. Another reason for why I felt a bit of sympathy towards Nixon is that he was used in a round-about way. Frost needed the publicity BADLY, and the interview with Nixon saved his career. Both Frost and Nixon were on the line. Only one of then was going to be victorious; therefor, no matter how the film ended, the viewer would be feeling bad for SOMEONE. It just happened to be Nixon!
No because even though he admits that he let his people down, he still didn't even say the words "I apologize". He knows what he did is wrong, bit he shouldn't have done it in the first place. Everyone should hate him for what he did even if he seems like a nice guy. I have very little sympathy for him, but respect him enough as a president.
In the movie there came the time when nixon was showing his emotions and how sad he was that he let down america. but that doesnt men what he did was right to me i belive what he did was wrong and he shouldnt be liked by many, but in this i do feel the sorrow of this man because he did everything wrng to try and do somthing right if he didnt do what he did then maybe he could have helped america. i dont feel bad for people not liking him but i do feel bad for him lettting down amerca because i know he did not want to do that and trough the real live interview i can see he is realy sad and i do feel sympathetic that he was in taht position
Yes, i felt very bad for Nixon. Honestly i felt bad for him throughout the entire movie. There were times i also felt bad for Frost too though. But by the end of the movie Nixon is just so worn down, and he shows that he cant take anymore. He was a human beings, and human beings make mistakes. His mistake was not even that bad, but because he was the president of the United States it was magnified and blown out of proportion. Sure, people say the worst part of the scandal was that he tried to cover it up, but how many people have made worse mistakes and also tried covering it up? I do not think Nixon's case was a fair one, and this movie just solidified my opinion of him. He showed he wasnt invincible, and i respect him for it.
I personally feel grief twords Nixon through the movie. He seemed to be very depressed and his facial expressions truly expressed how sorry he was. This in turns changed my bias twords Nixon and felt pity twords his cause. I believe that he never wanted the stuff that went down to have ever have happened. This makes me pro-Nixon and i forgive what he had done.
Yes, I do feel sympathy for Nixon. I believe he was a paranoid man who made a mistake without realizes how big of a mistake it was. He tried to cover it up making the situation worse, something all people do. It was apparent that he felt deep regret and embarrassment for what he had done. He was clearly unhappy.
I felt bad for President Nixon from the very beginning of the film. I felt pity for him from even before watching the movie. He had what would have been considered a fairly successful presidency if it had not been clouded by the scandal. The short clip we watched the other day of his final day and him getting on the plane and looking as he flew away from Washington was when I first started to feel bad. Then watching the interview by the end he seemed a tired old man who was regretful for his actions and was on the verge of tears, you couldn't help but feel bad. So by the time came to watch the actual film, I was already a bit sympathetic to him. And the final scenes of him breaking down on the last interview, sullenly walking out of the house and to his car (no signature wave) I felt very bad for the man.
I think I do have some sympathy for him. While what he did was absolutely 100% wrong and immoral, that's all people remember him by. People don't realize that other than watergate, he did alot of good things. And it's really a shame that nobody will remember the good things about him, only the bad.
I have mixed feelings about if i feel any sympathy for President Nixon. I think this movie did a good job showing his character and it makes me feel like he is a good hearted person. I think the things he did through watergate got blown out of porportion because of how politics work with some people just not liking him. At the end of the movie you see how upset he gets and how he looks real ashamed ( also in the interview we watched ) and it makes me feel bad for him. People tried to rip him apart over this and he was under the spotlight in a negative way for so long which probably caused a lot of stress. Although, I believe more people would be more sympathetic for him if he apologized more quickly than he did.
I do feel bad for President Nixon at the end of the movie because of the way he looks. He looks defeated, tired, worn out, etc. When he finally apologizes to the American people for letting them down, his human side is finally reveiled. Through the film he acts as a tough guy but at the end it seems like he really feels remorseful. President Nixon, at the end of the film, looks like a fragile old man because he is hunched over and walking a little slower which added to my feeling sympathy for him. I do not think he tried covering it up for malicious reasons and that is why i also feel sorry for him.
In this film I really did feel sympathy for President Nixon. At first I didn't at all because he got what he deserved for all of his mistakes, but at the end of the film in the last interview he just seemed really sad. He also seemed like he regretted everything that he did. At the very end of the film it made me feel bad for him also because he seemed so alone.
Yes, i did feel somewhat sympathetic at the conclusion of the film. Nixon just wanted to be liked again because after watergate, the entire nation felt betrayed by him. After he resigned he had no way of making up for what he had done so he was stuck dealing with that burden for the rest of his life. In a way, i did feel bad for the man, even after knowing all the bad that he had done.
Yes, I do feel sympathy for President Nixon by the end of the film. I feel sympathy because even though what he did was wrong, I think he realized it. During the interviews he did, he finally cracked under pressure. Also, he just seems like a normal person trying to live his life, he does not seem like a villian to me like he probably did to most Americans during that time.
By the end of the film, I really don't feel that much sympathy for Nixon. Although most Americans at the end of his presidency and even many today believe him to be a liar who had failed the public and tarnished the political system of the U.S., Nixon believes that what he did was right: by sneaking men in to investigate the Democratic party (or at least that's what he says he believes in the interview). He explains that following Watergate, their wasn't an "illegal" cover up, but he had acted "with his heart, not with his head" and that when the President does something, "it's not illegal!". By the end of the interview, although Nixon as admitted that he was at fault and that he had let Americans down, I still think he believed that he had been right and still sought the power that he at one time had.
I do not feel any sympathy for Richard Nixon by the end of the movie. What he did was wrong and he even admitted it. Another thing that loses my sympathy for him is the fact that he believed he was above the law just because he was the president. He also loses my sympathy when it is shown how greedy he was getting every bit of money out of this scandal and Frost. I Do not know how anyone can feel sympathy for him.
I cannot feel any sympathy for President Nixon by the end of the film. He corrupted the country and could have destroyed it by making the decisions he did. I thought it was great that Frost broke him down during the Watergate interview. Nixon started to take into account what he did, even though he believed the President was always above the law.
By the end of the film, I do not feel much sympathy for President Nixon. He admited he made many mistakes and let a whole country down when he was in office. He seemed to be ashamed and embarrased during the Frost interviews as he told his story. But overall, I feel that overall he was a good man, yet not a successful president.
