In this movie my favorite character is Dr. Strangelove. He is my faovrite character because he seems like he knows what he is talking about. He seems like a strong person who has been through alot. He is also extremely intellegent.
My favorite character up to this point would have to be Doctor Strangelove even though he has not been in the film that much yet. He is an ex-Nazis doctor or scientist and the way he talks shows his eccentricities. Dr. Stranglove is in a wheel chair with his mechanical arm and it just adds to how bizarre the movie is. He is also very smart and knew just about everything about the Russian Dooms Day device.
my favorite character so far would be the character george scott plays. for one, i like him a lot better in this film than in patton. having seen him in two different movies now, i like that fact that he is much more laid back in this film, like when he is first introduced he's only wearing shorts and an open shirt. i also like how he was arguing with the president at the meeting with everyone because it kind of reminded my of myself because he just kept going even though people weren't exactly agreeing with him, which is what i tend to do sometimes.
Gen. Buck Turgidson! I'd probably slap him across the face because he's so opinionated; however, I also think that that's a strong feature to have during a war. It's important to get your point across, and he makes sure he's heard. He drives me crazy, and yet he's subtly funny!
Lionel Mandrake would be my favorite character at this point because he is a man who seems very intelligent, but also tough at some points. He tried his best to prevent the code from being lost and has went through being captured in one point of his life, which would make him interesting to me.
At this point in the movie I would have to say my favorite character is Dr.Strangelove. This is mainly due to the fact that he provides the most comic relief in the movie. Whether he complexly trying to prove the point of an automatic trigger. Or putting down the Russians for not announcing their development of a doomsday device. He takes seemingly dark situations and makes them comedic.
My favorite character so far in the movie Dr. Strangelove is General Turgidson. I find his character interesting because he is ridiculous, but he is also pretty smart (or just lucky). He is the only one that suspected anything from the Russian Ambassador, who was actually taking pictures of the US plan. I also find him interesting because I'm not sure if I am supposed to like him. He seems rather stupid at times by wishing that American had a Doomsday device. The real reason I like them the most is because I just cannot figure him out.
I would have to say my favorite character is Dr. Strangelove. He adds an exotic type of atmosphere to this movie. He is also a very good comic relief character. Even though he had only a little on screen time he is very vital to the movie. He is also a character who helps progress the story line.
President Merkin Muffley is my favorite character because this character depicts what the president thought at the time and how defensive and not wanting to have war caused by their nation. I believe the cold war was a war that both sides did not want to start the war first, but both wanted war.
My favorite character so far would have to be Lionel Mandrake (Group Captain/executive officer under General Jack D. Ripper). To me, he seems like a very light-hearted person: he's always happy and joking even when faced with a stressful situation. For example, when Mandrake finds out that Ripper isn't going to recall the plane that is going to attack the Soviet Union, he's nervous about it, but suggests in a very positive manner that something "dreadfully wrong" is about to occur and is should be prevented. Mandrake even asks politely if he could have the codes in order to change the attack plan himself. However, we later see his anger when Ripper kills himself and he is desperate to stop the plane from dropping a bomb on Russia, yelling at a soldier to let him do his job. This shows that when pushed, Mandrake is not as "happy-go-lucky" as the audience may assume.
My favorite character so far is General Buck Turgidson. He is big on the army and really knows what he is doing. He takes it very seriously and does well at it. But he also has the crazy side to him where he will do things you wouldn't expect an army general to do.
I think my favorite character up to this point is Dr. Strangelove. When they are all sitting around the table he is made very apparant through his physical and intellectual qualities. To me he seems very creepy, which is the main reason i like him. He seemed to be almost giddy as he explained the doomsday device which really helped to qualify him as an odd man. His aprrearance also helps with his personailty alng with his mad scientist accent. All togther i think Strangelove is the most interesting character so far.
Up to this point, my favorite character is President Merkin Muffley. He is a very amusing charcter that adds alot of comedy to the film. Although he is clearly an fictional representation of a president, he seems to have the importance of the country in mind. I found the scene when he was on the phone particularly funny and I hope he shows up in the movie frequently.
I think my favorite character up to this point is General Turgidson. He just seems like a very interesting character. He's very involved in what is going on all the time. He seems really interested in what is happening and a very important character.
So far in the film my favorite character is General Jack D. Ripper. While being completely insane he is extremely genius. He makes use of military clauses and loopholes to get his way and single handedly sets the world on the path to total annihilation. While I obviously don't agree with him or his "reasons" for wanting to start a nuclear war, I find him the most ridiculous and entertaining character. A major purpose of the black comedy aspect of the movie is the fact that such a mentally unstable person can be placed at such a high ranking position and have such power at his fingertips.
So far in the film, my favorite character is General Turgidson. I really like George C. Scott and i think he does a great job of bringing out Turgidson's personality. He seems to have a way with the ladies yet her takes his job seriously and is a very determined person.
Definately the president. For some reason I find him extremely funny. The scene where he is on the phone with Russia is hysterical. Strangelove himself is also a fvaorite. Except, he's really creepy. His voice is weird and so is how he looks.
George C. Scott's character General Buck Turgidson is my favorite character so far. He seems like he is taking the bombing too lightly than everyone else. As everyone else is trying to stop it, he is pushing for it to happen. Although he's an ignorant character, I want to see how he develops as the crisis gets worse. Turgidson thinks it's a game and doesn't realize the real impact of the crisis of losing 10-20 million Americans. As the movie goes on, I'd like to see if he starts caring or realizing all the danger surrounding him.
My favorite character would have to be General Turgidson. He takes everything less seriously that everyone else. He seems almost naive at some points in the film. He even took bombing light heartedly which made him a standout in my book.
so far in this film i like general Turgidson. i like him because he is one of the funnier characters and he stand up for his self and his country. he always had a strong fact t back him up and thats why i like him.
