so, i think this movie had no purpose to be honest. i thought it was horrible, actually. but if i had to pick a purpose it would be to show almost a history of all the presidents. i felt like you could see a little of past presidents in Bob. The shooting was Reagan. The music was Bill Clinton. Nixon was also used to describe him even. i guess it also showed the affect the media has on elections and who you vote for.
I think the purpoe of this movie was to show the intensity of campaigning. This was not even a presidential election but rather it was a senate election. bob roberts gathered many supporters by playing his music and by speaking his mind, and obviously that really started going to his head. This movie went out o its way to show the evil side to elections. roberts framed a man for shooting him only so he could gain more support. It showed the exterme measures candidates will go to win an election.
I believe the purpose of this film was to show the contraversy with politics. It deals with the corrupt decisions of some goverment figures and everything they will do to win. One can see how much one person can affect all other people and how they earn their votes. During the movie you didnt know what to believe, just like real politics.
I feel that this movie was meant to show the politcs of the 90's where it was more about the public image than actually being a good person. It also showed that poloitians are not these holy figures that many people make them out of see. They are real people with real faults and real issues. While someone might seem perfect on paper they really are not and will do anything to save that public image of perfection.
The point of this movie was to show the other side of politicians. It was to show how different he was with his own people and how the voters saw him as this great guy. One of his co-worker people bailed towards the end of the movie probably because she did no agree with his "injury." Whereas everyone else was in awe with him. The voters perceptions were very different because they only say the kind, loving side of Bob Roberts. Also, Bob was very, very annoying with his folking singing that it was almost ridiculous that people loved him so much.
The purpose of the movie is to show the alterior motives of the government and politicians. It fits in with the many conspericies that the media is an arm of the government and there is a hidden power in the shadows that truly rules the country. Roberts, while viewed as a hero and someone with a "good christian" platform is actually corrupt and fooling the his constitutes and the american people. The purpose is to make people question what they are "fed" in the media and to do their research when voting for a canditdate. Even if they have "rock-star status"
the purpose of this film was to show us that everybody, even politicians, lie to get their way. when Bob was "shot" people said that he was shot twice in the stomach and one bullet hit his spinal cord, making him paralyzed for a short time. then it was said that he was never shot and his foot was even moving, something that cant happen if your paralyzed. he was doing anything in his power just to win, even if it meant faking an illness. everyone does this in todays soceity, faking things to get what they want
The purpose of this film was to show the corruption in politics, mainly during the 90s. Bob Roberts seemingly lied his way to the senate position and therefore influenced the public opinion anyway he wanted. For example, he tricked the people into thinking he had been shot, but was really trying to get sympathy for his campaign. This ultimately won him the election and he had succeeded in lying to everyone.
I think that the purpose of showing this film is to get a better understanding of what is involved in politics. This film showed all of the stuff that happened to Bob Roberts behind the scenes. It also showed what he had to go through to win the election. Normally you do not really get a complete understanding of what goes on during an election and everything that someone running has to go through. In this film we got to see exactly what it took for him to win the election. Bob Roberts even went as far as to pretend to get shot in order for people to feel sorry for him and vote for him more. He really went far and did things that were not fair to win the election. So I think that the purpose of seeing this film is to get a better understanding of what goes on when someone is doing everything they can to win an election.
In my opinion, the point of showing this movie was to show that everything you see in the media may not be true. This movie left everyone guessing. Did Bob Roberts fake the shooting, or not? There was plenty of evidence to support that he faked it, but so many people believed it was true. This movie didn't really have any historical value, and Bob Roberts was annoying, but it showed that in order to know the truth, you have to look for it.
The purpose of this movie was to show the overall, in my opinion, the overall true feelings of a political candiate, and how they can and will do anything to get themselves into office. I believe that Bob Roberts didn't even believe in all those songs about the nation, not smoking, and other things that general public would be strictly against. He just did those things to show his voters that he was a nice, good valued man that they needed in their corner. Everything in this movie seemed, acted, and became a hoax. Everything this stood for meant nothing to himself.
In my opinion this movie was to show how politicians and politics work. it also described hated people can be and how loved they can be. for example when people stood outside bob roberts window and chanted his name. another example is when he got shot and that showed the hate somebody had for him. this movie also showed that things put in magazines, the news, ect. is not always true, for instance when bob roberts was in the wheel chair singing for people and he was tapping his foot, he was supposed to be paralized from the gun shot. so either he was trying to get sympathy from people or he just wanted to get the journalist who always followed him around and harrassed him in trouble \ killed.
The purpose of shoeing this film is to compare it to other events in history. This movie relates to Clinton's election and time in office. This time period was full of false accusations and political wrong doing. This led to a time of political corruption that plagued the 90's. That is why the movie Bob Roberts was shown.
The movie's purpose was to show the way society thought in the 90's. The rise in popularity of media(music&television) led to politicians having to go out on a limb to gain the trust of voters. Instead of an election between Roberts and the opposing candidate, it was a popularity contest! His rise to victory with music and stunts(Ex: fake gun-shot) clearly show the tainted views of society in the 90s.
I think the purpose of the movie was to show how crazy human beings can get. There were so many crazy people in this movie. Like the guy Jack Black played was so supportive of Bob Roberts that he started getting into fights over it. On the contrary, the lady at the show hated him so much that she was willing to lose her job to make Bob look bad. And even Bob Roberts himself wanted attention so bad that he may have even faked a shooting to help him get pity votes. It really showed that its a dog eat dog world anywhere you go.
I believe the purpose of this movie was to show the political corruption in the 90's. This can be seen by the fact that one of Bob's campaigners who was involved in drug smuggling charges. As well as the fact that they faked an assassination attempt. In order frame the one person who can shut down there campaign. Bob also shows his corruption by using his fame with his music to sway the voters.
in my opinion i would have to say that this movie was made to show that not all people who seem good are. in this film we can see that bob is a kind man but what lies underneath? alot of things have come up during the movie that makes you see that he might have been a bad man. another thing this film was made for is to keep people guessing and on top of thier feet when it comes to polotics never let one rule your mine always listen o bothsides befor you make a decision. so at the end bob became senato and to what it seem he may have lied about alot of stff to get ino office.
I think the purpose of showing this film was to show us how crazy and intense campaigning can be. It also showed what politics were like during the 90's. It showed everything Bob Roberts went through during his campaign including everything that occurred behind the scenes. This was a very suspenseful film and i think it proved how wrong and misleading the media can be at times.
In my opinion, the purpose of showing this film was to show all of the negativity in politics. There were many rumors and controversies between both candidates. Paiste was supposedly interested in teenagers. Bob Roberts was a suspected drug smuggler. The film also went completely in depth with Bob's campaign. He went all over Pennsylvania to sing to gaint he trust of voters. Roberts tricked the American people into thinking he got shot. In the end, it won him the election and the sympathy.
i think the purpose of showing this film was to give us the image of how politics were in the 90's. we were all too young to be interested in politics even though we were alive. it also portrayed the media correctly in my opinion.
I think that the purpose of showing this film was to show how desperate canidates are to be elected. They are willing to lie, cheat, manipulate, and kinive their way into office anyway they can. Bob Roberts was the perfect example of our corrupt political world. He was figured out by a reporter so he faked being shot by him to cover everything up. He was using money, that was not his, to buy weapons and if the public discovered this he would never be elected. The purpose of this film was to exploit the corrupt and evil political world that existed in the 90's.
