Today GATE classes completed a quick Word Within the Word List #3 exercise. We then had our second part of speech presentation (nouns in 2nd period and verbs in 5th period). We then continued reading Flowers for Algernon. We took the same personality/cognitive tests that Charlie Gordon takes in the story, putting ourselves in his shoes. At the end of the tests, we wrote a short reflection of our experience from Charlie's point-of-view. 7th ELA classes completed the quiz for "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street." We then reviewed the quiz. We learned the stem pater which means father.  I returned the pronouns/vocab test and reviewed the test. We then received some notes on verbs, specifically action, linking, and helping verbs.
