It's so hard to believe that summer is just about over!!

 

In the coming weeks you will be getting your team assignment letter in the mail.  Please take time to look over it and feel free to email any of us if you have questions.  We all look forward to seeing you on August 6th.

 

I am excited about the new school year, as it will bring changes for all of us.  You all are experiencing middle school for the first time, and may also be separated from some of the friends that you have had in elementary school.  We will work hard to help you make new friends and still be able to maintain the old.  Middle school is a huge period of change in your life, and I hope that we can help make that transition easier.

 

A very wise friend of mine sent me this quote years ago, and I think of it each summer as I prepare to greet new students:

 

"It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new.  But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.  There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change their is power."  -- Alan Cohen

 

I know that leaving your respective elementary schools is very difficult, but embrace the new team you are on and rise to the challenge of expanding your horizons.
