In Chapter 1, Peter was sent to the market by his guardian to buy some fish. However, Peter uses his single florit to visit a fortune teller. With every action there is usually some form of consequence if we choose to not follow the directions. Why did Peter make this choice? If you were in this situation in the market square with so much excitement, what do you think (infer) you would do? Would you make the same choice? If so, why? And if not, why would you not?

I think Peter chose to see the fortune teller because he wanted to know the truth. I would have done the same thing because I want to know the truth too.

Hi Jace! I agree with you! I appreciate knowing the truth! Trustworthiness is extremely important and most valuable! Do you really think the fortune teller was telling the truth? Why is that? Some think that fortune telling isn't trustworthy. Can't wait to see what you think!

I see why Jace says that the fotrun teller is telling the truth. But how are they always right? Then again, there was talk about the elephant too. It is hard to tell if it's the truth or not.

Hanah...I don't know. I often wonder about that myself! How do they know? I knew someone many years ago that visited a fortune teller and they knew all about them. It was crazy! We need to get farther into the book so we can see what is going on... You agree?
