This is the Blog Spot for J.B. Cheaney's The Middle of Somewhere You must read the entire book before you can add a comment here.

A meaningful Blog will include a variety of opinions and a rich discussion of a topic.  This Blog will give students a chance to share their unique views about this year's Bluebonnet books.

Here are some ideas for comments:

  • Do you like Pop?  Why or why not?
  • Could you say this book teaches a big sister or brother about babysitting basics?  Explain.
  • Compare Gee to a kid you know who might be kind of like him.
  • This book has many surprising and exciting parts.  Describe a part of the book that was so interesting that you could not put the book down.
Once several students have shared their own comments, you may want to respond to those comments.  You may respond to your classmates with courtesy.  Make sure to add some sort of additional insight, though.  (Don't just say, "I agree.")

This book is interesting because the family is always driving and going places. I thought it was funny when Gee stowed himself away on Cannonball Paul's truck.

When the dog tagged along with Gee, managing to stow away on the motorcycle trailer, I had to keep reading! Then when Pop gave money to a man to make sure the dog would not stow away again, I got angry at Pop and wanted to keep reading to find out how Gee might be able to keep the dog. I kept getting more and more upset each time Pop said no. I was relieved when Ronnie "won" the dog in a poker match.

We liked this book because Gee did a lot of funny things especially when he freaked out about the squirell in the house at the beginning of the book. it was so funny to see his expressions change.

In third grade, I read this book and I thought this book was a instristing book. When the little boy went after the stunt man.

I thought this book was cool. I like when their grandpa came because he took adventures. I liked when her brother was chasing after Cannonball Paul.

I like that Ronnie told about her crazy afternoon with the squirrel and everything.

My favorite part was when the squirell was in the bathroom. It was hystarical. I loved how the author told that from Ronnie's point of view.

I thought as Abigail said that the book was cool and a little bit crazy. I also loved the part where her brother was chasing after Cannonball Paul.

I thought it was hilarious when the squirrel got into the house and was very energetic at first but then it slowly lost its speed and ended up in the toilet.

I didn't like this book as much as the other books but if I had to pick my favorite part it would be when the mom was chaseing the squiarl.

This is a great book and it shows you that you need to always stay calm even when you have a crazy brother like Gee. I think that Howard is a great friend because he helps Ronnie with finding Gee.

My favorite part was when the squirrel got into the house and got into the messy room heaven. I love messy rooms, I can't stand clean ones, so I guess I am like a squirrel (I also like to climb trees).
