I have to apologize.  My blog has been woefully neglected since the holidays.  Where did January go?!  We're getting a new library system that all of you should love.  It's just taking awhile to get it up and running.
I've read a lot of great books since my last entry.  The latest is a Lone Star called The Wednesday Wars.  The cover art is definitely lacking and gives a completely wrong impression of what the book is about, so let me try to set it straight.
Holling Hoodhood (yes, that's really his name) ends up having to spend every Wednesday afternoon with his English teacher, Mrs. Baker.  She ends up having him read some of Shakespeare's plays.  If you looked at the cover, you would get the impression that Holling hates it.  To the contrary, though, he ends up enjoying the Bard and even gets a part in a stage production of one of Shakespeare's plays.  Of course, I am sure there are places Holling would rather be on Wednesday afternoons, but it isn't out and out war with Mrs. Baker.
The humor in the story is great.  If you're looking for something funny, try this one.
