The Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) is dedicated to honoring our nation's most promising middle school students and preparing them for the wealth of opportunities that lie ahead.
The following 6th grade students from Our Lady of Sorrows School have been selected to represent our school and the state of Texas at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference 2008 (JrYNLC) to be held in Washington, D.C. this spring from April 12 to April 17:
- Alex Cisneros
- Ashwin George
- Javier Exiquio Gonzalez
- Esteban Vidal
- Parker Voit
These students have become Junior National Scholars and will join a select group of middle school students from around the country for the educational experience of a lifetime.
Together with other high-achieving students, they will take part in an event that will help shape their future and introduce them to American leadership and history as they have never experienced it before.
Our OLSS students will travel to Washington, D.C. and explore the many museums and monuments our capital city has to offer, explore historic Harpers Ferry, W.Va., a pivotal location in the development of our country and even attend a sleepover in the interactive Maryland Science Center, which will ignite their imagination, inspire learning and provide lots of fun too. They will experience the National Portrait Gallery American Presidents Exhibit, explore the Lincoln, Vietnam Veterans and Korean War Veterans Memorials and receive a VIP view of this historic city.
