PVI is trying to ramp up its recycling efforts. In a recent faculty meeting I heard about how much the school spends per week for trash removal services and I was shocked. It's as though we place large piles of money on top of our dumpster everyday.
Now I'm not going to be trading in my car for a dump truck anytime soon, but I certainly am going to be more vigilant about encouraging students to sort their plastic bottles and aluminum can out from their regular trash. I think a 30% reduction of waste to recycling is a reasonable goal. So students let's pitch-in and make this goal a reality.
