Begins December 2008
The READ-A-THON is our annual school-wide reading program. This page will be
used to update the progress of our class as students complete each station.
It takes 8 stations to earn a Gold Medal. If two of those stations are
completed by January 31, a free pass to Six Flags Magic Mountain will be
awarded. For each student in our class who earns a Gold Medal, a Room 23
Taco Bell party will be earned. Any student who completes 16 stations will also
have a special lunch with Mrs. Leon. If our whole class medals, there will
be a Room 23 pizza party, ice cream, and an afternoon play day. Finally,
through our various classroom reading opportunities, I will GUARANTEE each
student will earn 600 minutes with 200 minutes being available in each month
of January, February, and March. That means each student only needs to
complete 1,000 personal reading minutes outside of class.
