I often see that far-away look on the faces of people when I tell them I
am from Visalia, CA. Afterall, we are a community of over 118,000. A city
that size people should know about. But, for some reason, many do not.
However, when I say we are found in the Central San Joaquin Valley between
Fresno and Bakersfield, and that we are just east of Highway 99 on Highway
198, the gateway to Sequoia National Park, then they have a much better
picture.
Since our Third Grade Social Studies emphasis involves the study of our
community and our county, I decided to put together a series of Resources
that link you with information about Visalia and Tulare County.
Whether you are one of my students, a parent of one of my students, or a
visiting teacher, I hope you will find the information helpful and
informative. And, if you have any links that you feel would be an addition
to this site, please let me know. Enjoy the adventure! | |
