I have recently moved to California after teaching for the past four years in
my home state of Minnesota and for two years before that in Baltimore, MD.
While in Baltimore, I taught middle school math as a Teach for America Teacher
and earned my masters degree in teaching from Johns Hopkins University.
In my free time I enjoy reading, running, and traveling. I've had adventures
all over the world including Southern Africa, Japan, China, and Mongolia.
This past summer I traveled to Europe for an Education Conference in Berlin.
After the conference I visited Eger (Hungary), Budapest, Vienna, Prague, and
London. I'm planning a trip to India in 2008.
I'm often training for a running event (5 KM and 10 KM), and I'm proud to say
that I've completed two half-marathons and finished the 2006 Twin Cities marathon.

This fall I'm training for the Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon with the Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society's Team in Training! Each Team In Training participant agrees
to raise money to benefit research and patient services for those affected by
leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma.
