Description
MATHCOUNTS meets every Wednesday at lunch in room 13 AND one day after school
(TBD) from 3-4:30 pm. Bring your food and join us for some challenging
problems and discussion. Everyone is invited.

The mathcounts competition will be held on a Saturday in February
of 2010. Only two teams of 4 students may participate; teams
will be selected sometime in January. Mathcounts supplies most of
the materials that we use and practice with every Wednesday.

Math Olympiads
We will soon be registered for division M - 7th and 8th grade
level questions. All interested students (6, 7, or 8) may
participate as part of our CMS team. Contests will take place on
Wednesdays during lunch OR after school. Each contest consists
of five problems which are scored only as correct / not correct.
There is a time limit. Contest dates for this year are November
18, December 16, January 13, February 10 and March 10.

Continental Mathematics league
We will soon be registered for the eighth grade Pythagorean
Division. All interested students (6, 7, or 8) may participate
as part of our CMS team. Contests will be held on Thursdays
during lunch OR after school. Each contest consists of six
problems which are scored only as correct / not correct.
There is a 30 minute time limit, and calculators may not be used.
Contest dates for this year are November 5, December 3, January
7, February 11, and March 18.

Sigma math contest
This is a leveled competition for sixth, seventh, and eighth
grade. Students compete in five contests based on their current
grade level. Contests will be held on Wednesdays at lunch;
tentative dates are November 21, December 2, January 13, February
24, and April 7.

USAMTS - USA mathematical talent search is a high-level math
competition hosted by AOPS. There are 4 rounds of problems, with
5 problems each. The first set of problems is due sometime in
October, 2009.
