Student conduct in relation to the use of computers and the Internet must be
in support of the educational goals of Saint James Academy. All rules of
conduct and discipline policies described in the school handbook apply.
Inappropriate use of computers includes any activity involving pornography,
unethical or illegal solicitation, racism, sexism, inappropriate language,
bullying, transmission of copyrighted, threatening or obscene material,
commercial solicitation and advertising, identity theft or political lobbying.
Inappropriate use also includes, the unauthorized changing of hardware or
software settings, downloading, adding, deleting or moving files, folders or
icons and the purposeful infection with a virus. Use of the computer is
restricted to only those programs and web sites authorized by the instructor.
The principal will ultimately decide what is appropriate use and her decision
is final. The principal will apply consequences as described in the student
handbook any time deemed necessary.
