I moved into Santa Barbara in 1980, and into the neighborhood in 1985.
I have been married since 1986 and have two kids, two dogs and two guinea
pigs, but by the time you read this we might have more guinea pigs.
I've been a musician since the age of 8 when I started playing the piano,
and I also sing in a jazz vocal group called VocalPoint. I love all styles
of music. Well, almost.
I really love teaching math, and feel very lucky to be able to work in Santa
Barbara.
Here are some haikus I wrote.
The Salinas River
Old meanderer,
travelling light, you bring me
summer's secret wish.
New Year Dawn
Lucky Crane's new year,
mirrored in the marsh water
starts with a fresh fish!
Arlington Peak
A winter tuesday
Silent as a falling leaf
Hawk soars below me.
My mission is to get as many students as possible to succeed in math, to
learn its language, its skills, its purposes and its beauty.
