What classroom rules do I need to follow?

Respecting others is a necessity in regards to success in whatever you do, and this classroom is no different.  If we respect each other, there should be no problems.  I do follow all San Marcos policies, and this includes policies on truancy and tardiness.  There are a few things you need to know about this class:

  1. You are expected to be present and ready to work everyday!
  2. If you are absent and miss any work, it is your responsibility to ask myself or another student for the assignments, worksheets, or anything else you have missed.  If you have missed a test, it is your responsibility to schedule a make-up exam.  (I am happy to accommodate make-up exams during nutrition break and lunch.)
  3. Your participation grade will be tallied based on how many "Willbucks" you earn.  Every week, you can earn a total of $10 "Willbucks."  Extra "Willbucks" will be awarded to students who show a dedication to class participation.  "Willbucks" may be deducted for bathroom breaks, late papers, etc.  Bathroom breaks and late papers cost $5 "Willbucks."  A late project costs $10 "Willbucks."[1]
  4. I strongly urge you to visit my web site on a regular basis.  On the website is posted the homework for the week, a calendar of events, links, and your current grades.

What will I be studying?

This class is a brief course in the basics of economic theory.  Our goal will be to learn the answers to the many economic questions:  “How do individuals and societies make choices about scarce resources?”  “How do we best economize the resources we have?” “How is Globalism effecting American Economics?” “What role do I play as a consumer and possible producer in this society?”  and many more...
