Below is a partial listing of films (by topic or country/region) that relate to our studies in World History. You may earn extra-credit points f= or responding to up to two of th= ese films this term in a paper of 1-2 pages, based on the criteria below. Note that this credit cannot be us= ed in place of other assignments or as make-up work.=

1. At the top of the page, include the film title, the director’s name, and the year it was produced.

2. Start with a very brief summary (2-3 sentences maxim= um).

3. React to the film, describing a few moments in the f= ilm that you found moving, interesting, surprising, or confusing...<= /span>

4. Discuss the film’s historical accuracy. To do so, at minimum read about the historical event/individual in your textbook or in an encyclopedia. Did the director seem to take libe= rties with history? What seemed believable and doubtful? How = did the film reinforce, challenge, or add to your understanding of the historic= al event?

5. If the film is ‘R’-rated, your write-up = must be signed by your parent(s), indicating their permission for you to view the film. (Note: some of the listed foreign films may not be rated).
