Welcome to World History!  In this cla= ss we will be looking beyond our national boundaries to discover the history and cultures of the world.  Togeth= er we will explore people of different lands--their heritage and customs--so that= we may better understand our own.  Examining current events will help us bridge the past with the present.  Use of computer technology, including CD-ROM and the Internet, will help keep our research up-to-date.  Lessons will be thematic and interdisciplinary, enabling us to make connections between eve= nts, stories, art and music across time and place.  Class activities will be varied and interactive, including discussion, reading, writing, debate, individual and cooperative group projects, simulations, oral history interviews and guest speakers.

 

Grades are a composite of:

Participation consists of contributions to class discussion and the de= gree to which students work cooperatively and thoughtfully on in-class assignmen= ts, debates, simulations, etc.

Work submitted after the deadline will be reduced in score by one full grade per= day late.
