What do I do if I was absent from class?

The attendance policy is the same as that outlined in the student handbook.
If a student has an unexcused absence for any given class period, he/she
will not be allowed to make up the material missed.

IF YOU ARE ABSENT:
1.Check the absent folder for material passed out while you were absent.
2.Get the notes from a reliable classmate.
3.Make an appointment to see me.

MAKE-UP AND LATE WORK: Students who miss work because of excused absences
must complete the assignments within two days of the student’s return to
class. Exceptions must be arranged with the teacher. Laboratory
experiments must be made up within one week of the experiment.

Can I make up missing assignments? How much is it worth?

It is never to late to learn something! Any missing/late assignment can be
submitted for full credit. The sooner the better! I will grade late work as
I have time after grading work submitted on time. Listen for cut-off dates
to turn in late work and have it count in the current marking period!

I got a 2 or a 1 on a graded assignment. How do I redo/resubmit it?

1. Use a different color pen than the one you used orignally AND the one I
used to grade the assignment. Green is a great color! Draw a key at the
top of the page so I know what color your corrections are in.
2. Make all corrections on the original paper if possible. If more room is
needed, attach a paper to the back of the original assignment. The
original assignment MUST be submitted with any corrections.
3. Provide the correct answer to the problem/question you missed.
4. Write a thoughtful explanation telling my why you missed the problem in
the first place. What was your orginal thinking? Then tell me why your
new answer is correct. What do you know now that you did not know then?
5. Turn the corrected work in. Place it in the appropriate "IN" folder. Make
sure you DO NOT put it in the absent folder!
