SEMINARS

SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS
A variety of seminars and workshops are offered each year to keep parents
and students informed. Watch for the dates and times to be listed in the
newsletters, in the daily announcements and in the Steamboat Pilot
Happenings. These workshops are open to all students and parents, regardless
of grade level. Most events are held in the Career/College Center.

process deadlines and expectations are critical to gain successful
acceptance into the college of your choice. Additionally, the colleges are
all going high–tech and if you do not understand the on-line college process
you could put yourself at a disadvantage for acceptance. Excellent for
juniors and underclassmen, as well as seniors

recommended that students apply to 5 to 6 colleges at the most. With over
3,000 two and four year colleges nation wide to choose from, how do you
target the school that is the best fit for you? Discover the critical
factors in finding a school. The SAT website is explored to help narrow
college choices. This seminar should be attended after attending the first
seminar and is offered several times in Sept. and Oct.

athletic scholarships, high school coaches, and parents of college athletes.

important to understand what is expected of students who are playing college
sports. It is not the same as high school sports!

interested in applying for any of the 40 to 50 local scholarships must

are encouraged to communicate directly with their senior on local
scholarships.
