Gayle Dudley has been in the Steamboat Springs School System for
over 25 years. She has taught both middle and high school, in the areas
of Consumer and Family studies, Careers and the Counseling office.
Gayle currently works as the Career/College Counselor, and teaches Creative
Expression (Fashion Design).
Gayle holds a bachelor degree in Consumer and Family Studies from
Colorado State University, a masters degree in School Psychology and
advanced certification in secondary school and vocational
administration. She is licensed as a Consumer and Family Studies
teacher, a multiple occupational instructor, a school counselor K-12, a
high school administrator and as a vocational director.
Gayle has attended and presented at numerous state and national
conferences in the areas of vocational education, technology and
guidance and counseling.
In addition to extensive educational training, Gayle has also worked with
high school students for the last 25 years to select careers and post
secondary training options. In her role as Career/College Counselor, Gayle
has attended numerous state and national workshops on College admissions. In
addition to workshops, in the last several years Gayle has visited colleges
in Colorado, Florida, Vermont, New York, Washington D.C. Virginia, Alaska
and Oregon.
The Career/College Center is located in Media Center conference room
Steamboat Springs High. It is generally open all school days from 7:30
a.m. to 5 p.m. Many seminars for students and parents are offered
through out the year. These are posted on the calendar in this page, as
well as in the announcements, newsletter and on various bulletin boards
around the school. In addition to these seminars, individual meetings
for students and parents can be arranged.
The Career/College Center helps students:
*Search various career pathways
*Search and locate possilbe post secondary educational options
*Apply for college, vocational schools or any other post secondary
training option
*Understand and apply for financial aid, include all local scholarships.
The Center has extensive print material on all Colorado Colleges,
Community Colleges and Trade and Tech Schools. Additionally there is
an extensive library for out of state colleges and institutions. High
speed access is also available in the Center to send applications, do
searches, etc. Sample applications for all Colorado Colleges are also
found in the center.
