October 6 & 7, 2008:
MONDAY: Create vocabulary cards for the first 2 words on page 24
(irrigation, surplus) following the directions on the handout from last
week. (Picture and word on one side/definition and connection on the
other)
Study the topics listed above.
TUESDAY:
Create vocabulary cards for the next 3 words on page 24 (artisan,
civilization, social class) following the directions on the handout from
last week. (Picture and word on one side/definition and connection on the
other)

Vocab. words are due Wednesday, October 8th!
Each night, there will be homework. It may either be a written
assignment or to study for at least 15 minutes. Students should study a
little bit every night so that when it comes time for a test or quiz, they
will not feel overwhelmed or frustrated. Whenever new vocabulary words are
introduced, students will be asked to create flashcards or do an asiignment
that will help them learn the words. They should also be studying their
notes each night as part of their daily homework routine. They can either
study with a friend, a parent/guardian or older sibling, or make flash cards
up for themselves of questions like the questions that I model in class each
day. Good habits begin now!!
