December 3rd will be our first Exchange Day! Homerooms 5&7 will be going to
the Savin Rock Conference Center to participate in hands-on activities on
the Native American culture. Homerooms 4 & 8 will remain at East SHore to do
activities about ancient Egypt. HR 6 will split between the 2 sites.
Students need to be sure to have all of their work turned in. The team is
keeping track of missed assignments as of November 1st.
Cosmic Cultures is an interdisciplinary grant that our team has the good
fortune to participate in along with West Haven (Bailey & Carrigan), St.
Brendan's in New Haven, and Bethany. West Shore Middle School will be
joining our group this year and pairing up with Bethany.
We will begin planning some activities and Exchange Days with Baiey Middle
School soon. We will look forward to another great year participating in
this exciting program. Keep an eye out for information once the school year
gets started.
Our first field trip will be to see "The Mysteries of Egypt" at the IMAX
theater at the Maritime Center in Norwalk on Thursday, October 30th. Please
sign and return permission slips by this Friday, October 24th. We will be
having lunch at McDonald's after the movie. If your child would like to
order McDonald's, please send in money with them. The movie and
transportation are both paid for by our state funded grant. If your child
would like to bring lunch from home, they are more than welcome to do
so.
Now that our first trip is finished, students must review their
contracts. They have a cushion of 5 missed/late assignments before being
placed on probation for Cosmic. Parents, please help us to promote
responsibility for homework at home!
