About The Teacher

I am entering my 17th year of teaching, the last 13 have been at East
Shore. I have taught Science and Literature on Team 1 and now am thrilled
to be teaching my true passion, Social Studies. I am also the team leader
of the wonderful Schooners of Team 1. Before coming to East Shore, I taught
both 5th and 6th grades in an elementary school in Bridgeport in looping
classes which was a wonderful experience.
I did not begin teaching right away although it has always been my true
calling. I went to Bryant University in Rhode Island and graduated with a
degree in Marketing and Business Administration. I worked for Macy*s in New
York and Stamford for several years. When they began to have me teach
other executives, I realized that I had to follow my family footsteps and
return to school to become an educator of children. Both of my parents are
retired educators. My father was an elementary school principal for 35 years
and my mother taught 4th grade for many years. I attended Southern
Connecticut State University I where I recieved my education certification,
my Masters degree, and my Sixth Year degree in Educational Foundations.
I live in Milford with my 10 year old son Ryan and my dog Sasha, a
Lhasa Apso. In my spare time (if there is such a thing!) I love to travel,
read, and play/coach sports (basketball, tennis, and I am attempting to take
up golf!).
