What materials do we need in English class?
You need your assignment pad, a section of your notebook for English work, a
pen, and a pencil. If we are working on a special project that requires
additional materials, you will be told ahead of time.

How are assignments graded?
Most daily homework assignments receive a grade of Satisfactory or
Unsatisfactory(for partially done or very carelessly done work). As long as
a student genuinely attempts to do the assignment, a satisdfactory grade will
be given. Unless the student has a note from a parent/guardian, assignments
that have not been attempted will result in a grade of zero. All assignments
must be made up.

What about tests and quizzes?
Tests and quizzes receive a letter or numerical grade. Projects count as test
grades in a student's average for the marking period. There is at least one
such grade given weekly.

Isn't the literature anthology a heavy text?
Yes, that's because it has so many wonderful selections! It is also why
students are given a copy of the text to keep at home for assignments and
another at school for classwork.
