Our year will begin with a unit on the short story, which will lead into a 
mini-unit on science fiction. In addition to reading several works by eminent 
science fiction authors, students will work together on a Problem-Based 
Learning [PBL] activity dealing with the establishment of an interplanetary 
colony. Vocabulary and language lessons will be based on our reading.
