As Fall changes into Winter, we learn about the changes in the world
around us. We notice weather changes and how they effect our outerwear. We
study animal behavior and learn how they cope with the cold. We watch the
trees in our school environment and compare those that loose their leaves
with those that do not.
We have been reading many books about families; fiction, non-fiction and
poetry. The children love listening to stories. They get engrossed in the
stories. They finish the rhymes and the sentences in repetitive texts. They
make connections and share family anecdotes.
We are building words with the 'at' and 'an' word families. Encourage
your child to write sentences with these words, such as:
I can. The cat sat. The man ran.
Remember, at this time it's the process that's important, not the product.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
