Weekly Letter

November 9, 2009

Greetings from Miss Gerber’s Class!

Dear Parents,

Hello!  I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, this weather is certainly cooperating with the theme this month!

This week we will continue our main theme of “Changing Seasons.” focusing on nighttime and daytime, including activities that we do during both, animals that come out during the day/night, and day/night routines.

We will do a star project and use our stars to review our prepositions when we read the book, Bears in the Night.  During circle time, we will discuss bedtime rituals, getting ready for school in the morning, dealing with scary dreams, and other associative topics.  We will also talk about characteristics of animals (i.e., fur, scales, hop, swim) and connect this into which animals come out at night and in the daytime.

Our color for the week will be PINK. Please have your child wear PINK clothing to school on Wednesday.   We will also have a shape review week. Your child may bring something that is pink or their favorite shape to share on Wednesday for the a.m. class, and Thursday for the p.m. class.

Just some reminders about upcoming dates… This Tuesday, November 10th is an Early Dismissal Day for Parent Conferences, the a.m. class will be dismissed at 11:20 and there is no p.m. session.  Evening conferences will be held on Thursday, November 12th this week.  Next Thursday, November 11th will also be an Early Dismissal Day for Parent Conferences, and the a.m. class will be dismissed at 11:20 and there is no p.m. session.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Sincerely,

Miss Gerber J
