Dear Parents,                                            December 1, 2008

I hope everyone had a wonderful relaxing Thanksgiving and we are ready to dive back into school with renewed energy.

This week, we will read the classic tale of The Gingerbread Man. We will read the story, act it out with props, and re-tell it with the help of the flannel board. We also will chant the repetitive lines 'Run, Run as fast as you can . You can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man" and learn related fingerplays and songs. 

We will practice the concepts of opposites such as fast/slow, old/ young, boy/ girl, label farm animals and their various body parts, and make gingerbread cookies.

Wednesday will be our CIRCLE day. Please help your child find a circular item at home and send it to school where we will be sharing our items during circle time. We will also do a circle related activity on Wednesday.

Please continue to send in warm jackets, hats and mittens as we will still be going outside unless it is raining.
