![]() Weekly letterDear Parents, December 14, 2009
We are starting this week with finishing our baking prjects that were delayed due to the snowday. The threes are baking the cookies from the dough we made last Thursday and the fours are decorating the gingerbread house that we made from scratch.
Next we will read The Night Tree, a story about a family who goes into the woods every year to decorate a tree for the animals with edible treats. We will learn about the different animals that live in the forest in winter and make treats for them just like the family in the story.
AM SESSION: If you have not done so yet, please send two slices of any type of bread in a labeled baggie to school. The bread can be stale, we will use it for an activity. We also are in need of some cereal for this activity. This too can be stale. Please make sure all items are nut free!! This week's color will be brown. Please have your child wear something brown on Wednesday.
PM Session
Thank you to all the parents that sent in candy and other ingredients for our gingerbread house. Because of the snow day, we have not had the opportunity to share our cylindrical shape in class. If you have not done so yet, please help your child find a cylindrical shape and send it to school (labeled) to share on Wednesday.
We are running low on a few items in our classroom: -sandwich and snack sized ziplock baggies -shaving cream

The room mothers will contact you with plans for our holiday and winter celebrations. The parties will take place Tuesday 22 in the afternoon and Wednesday 23 in the morning. All parent are invited to share in our festivities.
