Weekly letter

Dear Parents,                               November 9, 2009

 

AM Session:

We are continuing with our unit on routines with a focus on bedtime. The books we will read include When It’s Time for Bed by Nick Butterworth, Flora’s Blanket by Debi Gliori, Bedtime For Rosie Rabbit and more! Our focus will be on concepts such as matching, counting, sorting, sequencing, making observations, turn-taking, and sharing objects that we see and use daily! Activities will include dressing the babies and dolls, giving them a bath, setting the table for dinner and praticing putting our coats on with an up and over movement ( 1-2-flipperoo). We will practice answering yes and no questions about ourselves and others and learn related fingerplays and songs.

 

We are continuing with the color green Please try and dress your child in something green on Wednesday (Pants or Shirt).

 

**IMPORTANT**

TUESDAY is EARLY DISMISSAL

school ends at 11:20

 

PM SESSION

This week we will learn about animals that are awake during the night and our own day/night time routines. We will read the non-fiction books Owls and Bats as well as many more related stories. We will learn about the different animals and their characteristics such as fur/ feathers, swim/ fly, etc.

 

This week we will learn about PINK, our last color. On Wednesday, please help your child find a PINK item and send it to school. We will also review our shapes.
