Announcements

**Please let me know if you have any questions by sending an email to:

*Welcome to our newest Chickadees in our AM session- Samantha and Seth!

*Mark your calendar!
-Conferences are this month, please note that there will be NO PM session on
11/10 or 11/19. I have recieved most requests by last weeks due date and
will send home reminders this week with remaining available time slots to
those who have not signed up. Please be prompt and honor the 15 minute time
allotment as many of the time slots are back to back. Bring in your
questions so we can have an effective conference to provide the progress
noted since the start of the school year.

*Please note our calendar page, I have updated many new and important dates
for the month of November including Conferences, upcoming themes, color weeks
and Show & Tells.

*Password protected photo gallery is up and running! Miss Hane began adding
pictures from our Taste Testing party. More pictures from Show & Tell,
Halloween and other fun class activities will be added daily. Your
classparent has shared with you the password- please let me know directly if
you need any assistance!

*Miss Hane was just recertified in CPR and one area that came up in the
training was CHOKING hazards. Please cut all grapes and raw carrot rounds in
quarters- halves are not safe for three/four year old throats. Also, I have
noticed alot of children in our class during snack cough while drinking their
half pint water bottles too fast. Please remind your child to drink slowly
and if possible, send in a straw. We prefer water over juice for snack time
due to the amount of sugar. Thanks!

*Please dress your child in sneakers DAILY for Group PT and outdoor
playground play. If you send your child in wearing snow/ rain boots, please
have a pair of sneakers in the backpack so we can change your child. Dress
shoes, work boots and crocs are not safe or supportive for school play in the
classroom, motor room or playground. Thank you for your assistance!

*Hours of TECEC:
AM session= 8:30-11:35am
PM session= 12:35-3:05pm
-Please be prompt in your drop off and pick up. This will maximize your
childs' learning time and assist teachers in setting up/ breaking down for
the next class. Thank you!

*If you are interested in the discipline technique that I use with the
students in class, please let me know and I can lend you a copy of the video
entitled 1,2,3 Magic for one week.
-Also, please see the 'Miss Hane's Classroom Mangagement Chart' page on this
website. This will give you a clear idea of what appropriote behavior will
be expected of your child daily and the communication that will be provided
to you. Please assist with your daily reading of the communication book and
talk to your child about the reported behavior. Thank you!
-I can give you a copy of our classroom rules to keep if you would like
to reinforce skills learned in school. Many parents have shared that the
consistancy has helped them greatly with compliance in the home and
community!
-For your knowledge, our rules include:
1) Sit in your chair, Hands on your lap, Feet on the floor
2) Mouthes are quiet
3) Eyes facing forward
4) Ears are listening

*Please check out the 'Related Services' link and 'Tuckers Corner' link. We
are currently using Tucker the Turtle to teach us how to think of an idea
that is a good choice when we get upset such as 'Ask a teacher', 'Use our
words' or 'Share' instead of yelling, hitting or kicking. On the link you
can download and print the book and visual cues that are being used in the
classroom!

*Weekly Schedules- To help your child be prepared each day and know
what to expect, you can go to the AM or PM Schedule pages on this site.
Each one will give you detailed activities that your child will be doing
each day. For example: you can read the schedule to your child in the
morning prior to school and say 'We need sneakers today because you have
Group PT with Mr. Scott!'.
This is also a good way to dialogue with your child to see what they did
each day after school. For example: you can say to your child when you pick
them up, 'What did you make in Art with Miss Hannah?'.
This schedule is subject to change but will be updated as changes occur.

*Arrival/ Dismissal Routine: Please be prompt and have your YELLOW name card
in your front dashboard for the teachers to see at pickup. Your child will
be walked out to your car and you will buckle your child in. If you need to
pickup your child prior to this, you can park your car in the main
Middlebrook lot, walk down and report to the main office for your child to
be picked up early.

**Please call Nurse Pat for medical related issues/ absences at #452-4425,
if you need to reach Miss Hane you can call #452-4422, if you need Dyann,
Beth or Judy call #452-4504. Dr. Matthew Wheeler can be reached at #452-
4423. This will minimize confusion!

*Health Alert= I strongly urge you to assess your child and if they are not
able to cover their cough/ sneeze with their elbow or wipe their nose with a
tissue, PLEASE keep your child at home to fully recover. We are working
hard to teach your child to cover and grab a tissue for their noses along
with disenfecting our tables/ chairs and toys daily. With your help we can
keep our class healthy!

*In case of incliment weather:
-Delayed opening= NO AM session, regular PM session
-Early dismissal= NO PM session, regular AM session (dismissing at 11am)
-School closing= NO AM or PM session
Listen to local radio (Star 99.9 and WEBE 108) or TV stations (News Channel

alerting you of delays or closings. Please update emails on our 'News
flash' page. Also, I recommend subscribing to CTweather.com for district
email notifications.

Thanks!
