The courses available for these students range from Robotics and Art to Fashion Design and Computer Networking. Classes are held each summer in classrooms and labs on the STCC campus. The College for Kids program includes two, 2-week sessions and classes are typically held Monday through Thursday in two-hour blocks.
Registration Process Applications will be considered on a 'first-come, first-served' basis and space is strictly limited in all courses. Many courses will be fully enrolled before the start of classes so early application is strongly recommended. The Junior High Program
For students entering grades 7-9. Supplement middle school courses and focus on skills necessary for more advanced high school courses. Students select two major courses plus an afternoon minor course and sport. MAJOR COURSE OFFERINGS: Writing, Skills in Literature, Drama Literature, Realistic Fiction, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Field Biology, Beginning French, Beginning Spanish MINOR COURSE OFFERINGS: Art, Drama, Guitar, Multimedia, Photography, Reading and Study Skills, and others. Summer Excursions in Learning
Manchester Community College

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Excursions in Learning for Children at Manchester Community College, is a two-week enrichment program for gifted and high-achieving children in elementary and middle school. The program offers over 40 activity-oriented classes - 14 of them new - in visual and performing arts, science, math, technology, world cultures and creative writing. Summer Excursions 2007 runs from July 30 - August 10. Morning (9am - noon), afternoon (1-4pm), and full day sessions are available.
In addition, a new one-week tecnology camp for students completing grades 6-8 called Engineer This is scheduled from July 16 - July 20, 2007.
Junior Culinary Camp is a one-week summer program in which students, who have completed grades 5-8, learn about healthy eating, and prepare a variety of recipes in MCC's professional kitchens.

There are NO alterations in the bus schedule. If you are being picked up at Maple Street School or Center 375, you may ONLY attend Summer Highlights at Center 375 or Henry Park. If you are being picked up at Lake Street School or Valley Falls, you may only attend Summer Highlights at Valley Falls or Camp Newhoca.
