Mark your calendars!
1) BACK TO SCHOOL "CHARACTER COOKOUT"!
Once again your CWE PTA and our great CWE staff will be inviting all families to have lunch,
meet teachers and bring school supplies into school on MONDAY, AUGUST 18th 12:30-2:30.

2) PTA GENERAL MEETING FEATURING OMEGAMAN FAMILY PRESENTATION - Tues. August 26 @7pm
This is a fun program for the whole family. 'Omegaman' combines unique feats of strength with a
powerful, fun-filled message of character development, motivation and inspiration! This program
will kick-off CWE PTA's "Commitment to Character" theme for 2008/09! See 'Upcoming Events and
Programs' for more information.
3) Check out the "CALENDAR" on this website for dates and times of various activities, events,
school vacations/holidays and more for the 2008/09 school year! Please refer to it often, as
new programs and events are constantly being added.
4) ANGEL BACKPACK Program:
Help us support students in need across the district by depositing essential school supplies at
one of the following Drop-Off points:
· North Pinellas YMCA (Lansbrook)
· Publix -East Lake Rd @ Ridgemoor
· Little Gym – Hwy.19, N. of Tampa Rd.
· East Lake United Methodist Church
· Cypress Woods Elementary Lobby After July 28th
Lets teach our children the importance of giving to others as they prepare to head back to
school! (see ‘upcoming events’ on this website for detailed Angel Backpack flyer/list)
5) PTA is having a contest over the summer. Special prizes will be given to the top 20 students
who bring back the most:
Campbell Soup labels
Box Top Labels
Tyson Food Labels
6) Help your Child. Get involved with the CWE PTA!
Parent Participation = Higher Grades + Higher Test scores = Better Schools.
PTA is welcoming committee members for the 2008/09 school year!! Get
involved....join a committee this year. Contact any board member for more information (see 'who
we are' on this website).
