My undergraduate degree is in business from the University of Illinois. I
have a MBA from Valdosta State University in Georgia. I also have a second
MS in political science from the Naval Postgraduate School. I am a graduate
of the Defense Language Instute in Russian , as well as the US Army Russian
Instute. My life has taken me all around the world. I have lived in a many
states, Moscow, Bavaria, and the Pacific island of Guam. Things are more
quiet now, and I have been teaching in Manatee County for the past twelve
years. I hold a Professional Certificate in Florida for mathematics and
social studies. Teaching is my passion in life!
My goal for this class is for students to appreciate the importance of
mathematics in their education in higher level sciences and life in
general. I will always stress computational skills and applications of the
computed data to real life situations. I will emphasize technology in the
classroom and teach my students that calculators and computers are powerfull
tools in their education and in their lives. We will also focus on
mathematical vocabulary and have a writing component on each exam and
periodically in class. I am pleased to be a part of the Pendleton faculty
