What is the Challengers' Club?
The Challengers' Club is a modification of an idea
I found on a teacher's website in Oregon. Her idea was to have a Mastery Club
to inspire her students to achieve more than just what she expected in the
classroom. I hope it challenges and inspires students to learn more while
having fun. I thank Mrs. Renz, the teacher, for permission to use her ideas.
How do I get into the club?
To get into the Challengers' Club, all you need to
do is select one assignment and complete it. Bring the completed assignment to
me to check. After checking your work, you will receive one star. You can be a
one star member of the Club all the way up to an 85 star member. The levels
are listed below:
Blue Star 1-17 Stars
Red Star 18-34 Stars
Multi Star 35-51 Stars
Silver Star 52-68 Stars
Gold Star 69-85 Stars
When can I start?
We will begin the Challengers' Club as soon as we
return in January.
How do I complete the different assignments?
Choose an assignment below that interests you!
There are websites attached to some of them to help you. You are not required
to use them to complete the assignment. You may complete the assignments on
any kind of paper in any manner you wish. Please make sure your name, the
date, and the assignment are written on your work. Your work should be neat
and easy to read. For the math links, there are certificates that you can
print to indicate that you completed that assignment. Print those to bring to
me to receive credit. Have lots of fun.
PARENTS: Please guide the students through this
activity, but DO NOT DO IT FOR THEM! There
are no grades involved, no rewards, just recognition! It should be something
the students WANT to do to further their learning and education. Thank you for
supporting your student's learning activities.
