I take a group of students to Europe every year. Many top colleges look
favorably at students who have traveled abroad. This is supposedly a good
indication of a student's desire to learn. In June 2010, several parents,
teachers, and I will escort a group of students on an educational tour to
Rome and Paris. The trip will be eight days long and full of adventure. We
will visit all the places that students have learned about in these two
cities steeped in history. For example, we will visit the Coloseum, Forum,
Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Vatican and many other sites in Rome. In Paris, we
will visit the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Sacre Couer, and many other
awesome places. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about
the history and culture of the past while enjoying the wonderful atmosphere
of these places in the present.
In addition to offering this opportunity to students, parents are also
invited to attend as chaperones. For more information, contact me at
allen_murphy@gwinnett.k12.ga.us. The more adults that go on the trip, the
more enjoyable for everyone else, especially me. :)
