About The Teacher

I am originally from Louisiana. I enlisted in the Coast Guard when I was
nineteen. I spent thirteen years on active duty while continuing to go to
college at night and on weekends. I graduated from Auburn University with a
B.S. in Secondary Education in Language Arts and History. I taught three
years at the high school level in Cobb County before moving to
Colorado and teaching there for two years. While living in Georgia, I earned
my M.A. in Humanities at the University of Central Michigan at Atlanta.

This is my fourth year at Parkview. During each of my previous years of
teaching, I have taken one or two educational trips per year to Europe with
some of my students. This is a great way to teach across the curriculum and
to expand their world view. Parents are invited to go along on these trips
as chaperones. I encourage you send your student on these incredible
learning excursions to discover more about world history, literature,
architecture, religion, art, and much more.

I am the author of one published book titled The Dead and the Dying. You can
preview the first fifteen pages online at www.lulu.com/content/1051828. This
book is intended for a mature audience. If you are under eighteen, get your
parent's permission before previewing or ordering the book.

Mission For The Class

My mission for every class is to stretch our minds to learn as much as
possible during this year.  The brain is like any other muscle in the body;
the more you use it, the larger it gets.
