Check your child's folder on Monday afternoon for a cute picture of our
class. Cathy Buhmeyer took a class picture and was nice enough to make
copies for everybody (and even took the time to make a cute little "frame").

I will be out on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please send any
correspondance via note (not e-mail please) to Mrs. Glenn. Please do not
send me any time sensitive e-mails since I will not have access to a computer
while I am gone. Cathy Miller will be our substitute and between her, Mrs.
Glenn and Mrs. Czeczil, our class will be in very good hands!
Just a reminder that our class picnic is September 18th. We have had a lot
of RSVP's so far and it looks like we're going to have quite a crowd. It
would be very helpful if someone has a boombox that we could use that night.
The one we use in class doesn't get very loud and didn't sound very good last
year. Please let me know if you have one that you can bring.
Also, don't forget about the Fall Carnival on Friday. It's for a great cause
and you and your family are sure to have a lot of fun! Thanks to our room
moms for all their hard work putting our activity together.

child having to phonetically sound them out)
Please help your child learn to tie his/her shoes (if needed). Many of our
children are still working on this skill and practice makes perfect.
Don't forget to let us know if you're going on a trip and would like to take
Flat Stanley. If there are several requests for the same time period, Flat
Stanley will go with the child who is traveling the furthest distance. He
should be returning from Boston today and we are very excited to hear about
his first adventure of the school year.
Since it is so early in the year, your child may not remember that Wednesday
is library day. Please help him/her remember to return last weeks book so
that a new one may be checked out.
You may wish to send a sweater to school in your child's bookbag. I know it
is still very hot outside but it gets quite cool in our building, especially
in the lunchroom.
Please remember that transportation changes must be made in writing and sent
in your child's folder. While I try check my e-mail during the school day,
it is not always possible to do it before the children leave for the day.
Because of this, please do not e-mail changes in transportation.
All communication will be sent home via your child's folder so it is
important to check it daily.
Our class goes to P.E. every Thursday and Friday. Please be sure that your
child wears tennis shoes so that he/she will be able to participate.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or
comments about your child. I believe that good communication between
parents and teachers is very important and I want you to feel that you can
come to me about anything. Remember to include the apostrophe in my name if
