Fourth Grade Newsletter- 4th Quarter
Fourth graders have just wrapped up a unit in their book clubs. These small
group book discussions and projects were great fun! Each student was
responsible for leading discussions, writing quizzes, and connecting their
book to a related topic.
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California… Ask your fourth grader how
many states they can list in alphabetical order- You’ll be impressed! In
Social Studies and English, we continue to work on state reports. Each of
our fourth graders has already become an expert on their chosen state. We
have already explored state symbols, climate, physical features, and
history. This project will continue to teach students about effective and
informative writing as well as provide an opportunity for them to learn
about a state that interests them. This project will conclude on April 10.
We’ve begun to work with fractions in math. Students need to keep up with
their homework so they understand the concepts that build on previously
learned skills.
As we kick off the fourth quarter, our students are preparing to become
fifth graders. I continue to have high expectations for our class. Though
this year will be coming to a close soon, it is extremely important that
students are always doing their best work and turning it in on time. I look
forward to an energetic fourth quarter!
Carta Informativa sobre el Cuarto Parcial
Los alumnos de cuarto grado se han envuelto en una unidad de sus grupos de
lectura. Estos pequeños grupos de debates de lectura y proyectos fueron muy
divertidos! Cada estudiante es responsable de dirigir los debates, elaborar
pruebas, y de la conexión de su obra a un tema relacionado.
Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California… Pregúntele a sus hijos
cuantos estados pueden nombrar por orden alfabético- Se sorprenderán! En
Estudios Sociales e Inglés, continuamos trabajando en los informes
estatales. Cada una de los alumnos se ha convertido ya en un experto en su
estado que eligió. Ya hemos investigado los símbolos estatales, el clima,
las características físicas, y la historia. Este proyecto continuará
educando a los estudiantes acerca de la escritura eficaz e informativa, así
como proporcionar una oportunidad para ellos de aprender acerca de un estado
que les interesa. El proyecto concluirá el 10 de abril.
Hemos comenzado a trabajar con fracciones en matemáticas. Los estudiantes
necesitan estar al día con sus tareas a fin de que entiendan los conceptos
que se basan en las aptitudes adquiridas anteriormente.
Al terminar el cuarto parcial, los estudiantes se preparan para convertirse
en alumnos de quinto grado. Continúo teniendo grandes expectativas para este
grupo. Aunque este año se acerca a su fin en breve, es sumamente importante
que los estudiantes estén siempre haciendo su mejor esfuerzo y entregando
sus trabajos a tiempo. Espero con ansias un enérgico cuarto parcial!
