Dear Parents and Friends of St. Ann Catholic School,
The first three weeks of the school have really flown by. MAP testing
is off to a great start thanks to all the detailed efforts of Margret Close
and her staff. Family sleep patterns seem to have adjusted to the school
day and fall sports competitions begin this weekend. Our entire contracted
teaching staff started our School of Faith instructions from Troy Hickle,
hoping to further our own understanding of our Catholic Church and them pass
it on to your children. Our three new staff members, Kali Yount in second
grade, Mike Dennihan in eighth grade religion, and Jim Huber in seventh
grade religion and Confirmation have really gotten into the flow of things,
bringing energy and enthusiasm to our school.
Over the next six weeks, there will be a blur of activity surrounding
our October 11th and 12th Fall Festival. I would like to encourage every
family to get involved in some way with this fantastic community builder and
fundraiser. Grade level gift gathering parties will continue in the coming
weeks. Thanks to Ann Thomas, Colleen Bowen and Mary Callahan who hosted our
staff gift gathering party at the Thomas’ home on August 15th. Many
opportunities to volunteer are still available. You can always buy Scrip
cards to donate to this event, getting the tax right off while supporting
Scrip. Any information about the Fall Festival is available online at
www.stannfallfestival.com. Amy Sullivan, with her high tech ways, has
designed this wonderful web site. It is so easy to access that even I can
understand it. We are really hoping that every St. Ann’s family will
participate in this wonderful dinner and auction on Saturday, October 11th,
and the carnival on Sunday, October 12th. All proceeds will go to our
church and school!
Stay healthy, holy and happy,
Mark Huppe,
Principal
