DRESS CODE

At St. Ann School, we feel that our dress code can help in creating a
positive atmosphere for learning. Our dress code is intended to create
uniformity in dress and give our students a well groomed appearance. It
also supports safety needs as we easily recognize our students in uniform.

Students may not distract from the learning environment! We discourage
the use of makeup and jewelry, but if it is worn, we expect simplicity and
will not allow anything disruptive. Boys may not wear ear or nose rings.
Students' hair should be well groomed. Unusual lengths or cuts and dyes are
not permitted. Boys' hair should always be above the collar.

Students in grades K-6 should wear dark navy blue pants/shorts and
students in grades 7 and 8 should wear dark khaki pants/shorts. A 50/50
poly/cotton blend is the recommended fabric for the pants and shorts. All
pants should have belt loops, and shorts should be a walking short, one to
two inches below the fingertips when the arm is extended downward. No cargo
pants, jeans, baggy pants, studded, or corduroy pants are allowed. The
following stores are good sources for the color and style of pant that is
appropriate at St. Ann School: Dillards, The Gap, Dennis Uniforms, Kids R
Us, Sears, J.C. Penneys.

We need parents' cooperation in helping us enforce our uniform policy.
Before children leave for school, we ask the parents to make sure the
children are wearing proper uniform attire.
