Mrs. Tartaglione
I am so excited to be your second grade teacher! I am looking forward
to getting to know all of you when school begins. I also feel that it is
important for students to know a little bit about their teacher so they feel
as comfortable as possible in the new classroom setting.
To begin with, I live in Weymouth, MA which is about 25 minutes away
from Plympton. I live with my husband and two adorable dogs, Muffin and
Cali. I was born and raised in Weymouth and I have been working as a second
grade teacher in Weymouth for the last three years. Now I can look foward
to commuting down to Plympton and enjoying the beautiful scenery your town
has to offer (cranberry bogs).
Also, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from
Framingham State College. During my first year as a second grade teacher I
began taking classes toward earning my Master's Degree in Elementary
Education as well, and I graduated in June of 2005.
In my spare time I love to read, walk my dogs, and spend time with my
family. I also take yoga and country line dancing classes. I look foward
to camping in the summer and taking our canoe out on the Back River, which
is about 100 feet from my back yard.
My favorite subject to teach is reading because literacy is the most
valuable gift in the world. I also love teaching math and playing fun math
games to help students to connect with the concepts.
Upon entering the classroom I expect only one thing from my students,
RESPECT. If we all have respect for one another we can begin to build a
team of learners. With team work we can all succeed!
Miss Dealy
This will be my second year teaching second grade at the Dennett. As a
graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School, I am proud to be teaching in
the school district where my education began. I received my Bachelor of Arts
Degree in History and Elementary Education from the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst. I also earned my Master of Education Degree through
the Collaborative Teacher Education Program at the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst. My teaching experience includes working as a Special
Education Assistant, a Substitute Teacher, a Summer Camp Teacher, and an
Elementary Tutor.
During the summer I love to go to the beach, go camping, and jog with my
dog, a golden retriever named Ben. In the winter I love to go on
snowboarding trips with my friends.
It is our goal to create a comfortable classroom environment in which
all learners feel challenged to take risks and believe in themselves. We
expect students to be kind and respectful to one other and to all of the
staff members in our school. We know that we will become a wonderful team
of learners and we will motivate and support one another in the learning
process. We will work very hard in second grade and we will have so much
fun learning together. We believe that all students can succeed in all
subject areas, and when we believe- we achieve!
