Grade 7 Autobiography
This year you will write, illustrate and collate an autobiography. This project will span your entire seventh grade year. You will divide the book into five chapters. We will use some class time to work on the chapters. This project will incorporate interviewing and investigation, writing, editing and collating skills.
The project is divided into five chapters.
Chapter 1 – Descriptive Writing -All about me from birth to five years of age. You will do some research to find out all about you when you were a wee one!
Chapter 2 – My Favorite chapter – The Memoir – You will write a personal story about a favorite birthday, holiday, family tradition, teacher, vacation, sport, hobby, or activity. This should be a personal memory.
Chapter 3 – A poem about one of your parents or both of your parents. You will also add three other poems you write to this chapter.
Chapter 4 –Do you have a scratch to itch? In this chapter you will write a persuasive opinion piece. You will think about an issue that you feel strongly about and you will write a persuasive four paragraph essay explaining and defending your position.
Chapter 5 – A reflective piece – You will think about how you have changed since elementary school, and reflect on your independent reading, your writing, and all you have learned socially and academically in grade 7.
