The spelling words are on the Spelling page. Please help your child with
the words.
There is a new list of vocabulary words each week too. Make sure
you study the words.
There is a WORD FIND PAGE. Work the word find together and bring in to the
classroom. It will be fun to see who completes the page.
There will not be a lot of homework for the first grade students. I suggest
that you as a parent take time to sit down and listen to your child in the
evenings. He/she can tell you a lot about what is on his/her mind. Their
day is very important to them and you need to show them you care. Look their
papers over when they bring them home.
There will be some take home packets later in the year for fun activities to
work on in the evenings. Enjoy them together.
It is also helpful for your child to read in the evenings. The more he/she
reads the better reader he/she becomes.
